Sinead O'Connor - Troy

Post by MrsDev » Wed Nov 23, 2011 3:31 am

Probably the best song of the 20th century. Probably.

Hello, nice to be here. I actually do exist although I won't be on as much as Dev because I can't get the laptop off him.

I love her.

spins blindly in the dark
so close to annihilation.

Listen. No one listens. Meow.

Funny... I've had the Lion and the Cobra for decades, and I'd completely forgotten azbout that one. Maybe it has to be with the fact I seldom understand the lyrics and treat Sinéad as a pure musical experience.
While the girl has serious voice, I've never cared much for her usual musical style. Her best stuff, in my taste, is cover of traditional songs, like when she appeared on The Long Black Veil with the Chieftains, on on her album Sean Nos Nua.

But she is so extraordinarily incredibly gifted. It's a pleasure to simply listen to her.

I'm kind of a more difficult customer. Listening to her singing soup like "nothing compares" is actively painful to me.

She's a feckin' eejit and she can feck off with that Cathlo-Rastafarian shite. Just because she ripped up a picture of that other gobshite as part of a cynical publicity stunt doesn't make her St. Germaine Cousin.

Anyway. Here's my favourite song of her's (with Massive Attack).

Libertarianism: The belief that out of all the terrible things governments can do, helping people is the absolute worst.

:tat:
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.
