Once the oil and food shortages kick in the powers that be will want a scapegoat community that doesn't include the wealthy elites. I notice there is a article on the same site about the BNP being over its rough patch. I wonder who bailed them out? Neither does it seem wise given Cameron is under pressure and needs his own scapegoat at this moment in the game and the mob of fools have given him just that. Not passing a value judgement. :smoke:

"Cry Harald" refers to a saying that if you wanted to speak to the King, you simply had to call out his name (at a function or when he was holding court) and he would call you forward.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Not sure, it was a passing reference to the difficulty of doing the "Cry Harald" thing in a book about the Victoria Era, IIRC. It came up in class discussion around 1995, so the exact details of the response are vague.
