Jeff Randall - here's YOUR proof Jeff
Stan Grof who worked with LSD "the GOdfather of LSD" said that anyone who was an atheist that took LSD in a good stroong pharmacological psychedlic dose 400mcg sooner or later had a death experience that left them believing either in god or some supernnatural conscious principle.
That's ironic. Because the Church mostly objected to lSD on the grounds that it gave a pseudo-religious experience.
So that's Jeff Randall's challenge. Take a pharamcological dose in focused surroundings. Will he take the challenge? or will he sctratch his beard?

I can tell you for a fact that is bullshit.

The prohibition is mentioned in the Bible too, but it had to do with drunken revelations.Jonesboy wrote:Stan Grof who worked with LSD "the GOdfather of LSD" said that anyone who was an atheist that took LSD in a good stroong pharmacological psychedlic dose 400mcg sooner or later had a death experience that left them believing either in god or some supernnatural conscious principle.

A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Back in my trippin' days, I saw God pretty often. More than anything, he resembled the universe, except that the universe exists.

LSD => God not on that tiny little dose I can just about see the funny side on that dose . And even if it were true all you are proving is that people brought up in culture of spirituality get spiritual when they trip . I've given dozens their first trip ,either LSD or mushrooms and can tell you it is rare that people very from a set number of themes and clichés . Would you like to know the ones most people say Before they start having a bad time ? would you like to know the ones that mean you shouldn't leave them alone even for a second ? Or the ones that mean you are the cause of the anxiety and it's time to get another baby sitter for them ? Or the ones girls say when they are horny but don't want to say anything ? Sorry Jones but your but your second hand anecdotal evidence is not impressing anyone . Esp the many members of this Forum who know a fuck of a lot more about Tripping than you do .

Angel dust is a better way there. You don't need to keep taking it, once you've fried the noggin it stays fried with PCP.

Re: Jeff Randall - here's YOUR proof Jeff
I used LSD quite a lot in the early 70s not long after it was introduced/widely circulated. I had a number of experiences which I would have called 'spiritual' back then. I also had a few that were profoundly isolating and existentially 'sterile' to the extent that everything lost context and meaning - almost as if everything was dead - the opposite in some ways to 'spiritual'. I experienced some very extreme states of consciousness and delusion one way or another. I think that was what characterised the experiences - their extreme nature and the utterly restructured way that my consciousness could work.
I don't think anyone needs to bring god into it.

I can tell you from personal experience that the OP is bullshit.
Same goes for a functionally equivalent dose of psilocybin mushrooms.
The problem is "...had a death experience that left them believing either in god or some supernnatural conscious principle."
Having a feeling that the Universe is all connected and nurturing while you're tripping is very different from believing in woo-woo the next day.

Off-topic, but I never had a bad trip. Can't even imagine how it's possible, unless you got something laced with something vile.Feck wrote:...Would you like to know the ones most people say Before they start having a bad time ? would you like to know the ones that mean you shouldn't leave them alone even for a second ? I have heard that the average blotter is 125 - 25- micrograms.Tyrannical wrote:How many tabs of blotter is 400mcg?
No idea how accurate that is.
