Did you not see I apologised for any misunderstanding? You really are a number aren't you? My cross hairs weren't directed at you, but they were about you. :hehe:

Here's a cross hare.

You've eaten it, haven't you?

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

nope, you is wrong.
The evidence says that's incorrect. It's a pretty long list of evidence, too. 48 pages so far.
Don't Panic wrote:Along with an in crowd, you get in jokes, might not be the easiest thing for newer members to grasp but the papa smurf thing is indeed our fearless leader, unless you are admitting to being blue and short?

There is even a pic of pappa dressed up as a smurf in one of the pics of us threads.
It's quite straightforward: posting crosshairs on a "welcome" thread is a threat. Don't post crosshairs if you don't want people taking it as a threat.

I would just chide tigger privately if there weren't an issue of application of the rules involved. And I didn't make it an issue of application of the rules; you folks did.

I wouldn't have. I think it was a huge mistake.
Don't Panic wrote:Schneib, you seem like a nice guy, but give the paranoia a rest, no one here is out to get you, we're all too lazy for that shit.
What, you think I seriously think that tigger is gonna show up in Monterey with a rifle? C'mon, give it a rest. I'm not a nutjob, no matter how many cool kids think it's cute to pretend. It's insulting of you to think so, as a matter of fact, and if I were trumping stuff up I'd make a personal attack out of that assumption.
Don't Panic wrote:You want to feel singled out and persecuted, fine, but don't be surprised when we stop caring.
I have stated multiple times that I want to be left the fuck alone about all this shit. I state it again: just stop all the chickenshit and leave me the fuck alone. For the tenth or fifteenth time. How many times do I have to say it?
Don't Panic wrote:If you take a step back and just join in you might find that this place isn't the third reich, we leave that to forums with a purpose, we only have a porpoise. And it's usually drunk.
When people act one way and talk another, I tend to ignore the talk and focus on the actions.

You got a considerably more polite response than this post deserved. You're thinking is foggy to say the least. Do better.
By paranoid I meant your seeming belief that we are out to get you, not any serious belief that anyone(especially not tigger) is going to turn up and shoot you, if I had to put money on anyone here shooting anyone it would be Seth, zilla, wumbo, or gallstones. And only with good reason.

This place really isn't the den of inequality you seem to think it is, most of us are nice people once you get to know us, even the Canadians, and the Welsh, hell, even the scots are tolerable when they're sober.

All I'm asking you to do is take a step back, stop jumping at everything as if it were a personal affront, and accept that this place is a lot less serious than most other places, it's essentially an off topic area with serious bits tacked on, not the other way around. We are mostly here to relax and have fun.

Look at the total posts for each area of the forum, the pub is bigger than the rest combined, so grab a beer and have a laugh, it is addictive, and beware of the great bacon/cheese divide, that is our most contentious debate since day one.

And if you do want to put detecting lies to a serious test, sign up for a mafia game, spotting lying scum is the whole object of the game.

wow, nearly 50 page of drama. How did I miss this? :pop:
Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

My intent was to try to keep it from spilling over onto the rest of the forum, and this thread is one in which I have the moral ascendency, that is, it's mine. Nobody can whine I screwed the thread up.

Also, I said my say, and everybody had their say about that, and then I had my say about that, and it looks like we're done. If we're not we can come back here and bitch at each other some more. But I suspect I made my point.
