This one does.

oh Gawd, don't mention that.
That was a special kind of not fun.

there is a fix, but it isn't supported anymore so an update to the core software could botch the whole thing(we're 1 update behind current), and it doesn't work in subsilver, which quite a few members use.

Well, I found a place to talk about politics anyway. TPM. Makes this place look pretty amateur in terms of moderation, but pretty advanced in terms of technology.
I notice the asshole "moderator" from ratskep disappeared after I clipped him in front of the staff who's supposed to be running things over there. They've got the same chickenshit attitude about "the lusers" as you do here.
lusers?
It's pronounced "losers."
This should help clear it up for you.
ETA: Only problem with TPM is I keep wanting to use HTML tags instead of BBCode.

The mod makes changes to the posts as stored in the DB. If you ever uninstall the mod, all the posts that contain a quote are broken in a really messed up way. The mod is not supported in Subsilver (which quite a few of our members are using), or supported any more by it's developer either. It could stop working at any point when the forum software is upgraded, and the result would be a real mess.

So the quote-links are broken one update back on the main codeline? I'm having trouble believing that. I thought they were charging money for this software.
(reading Pappa's comments, the "you're slow" feature is still amusing and one thing I missed about this site)
I've seen a lot of forums and they all have quote-links.
I have to tell you I suspect the reason the module's no longer supported is there's a way to do it that doesn't require the module any more.
I have to point out that I can't think of a way to implement quote-links that doesn't involve putting something in the DB.

Kinda funny to read it though.

I dunno, maybe Ronja's got a God complex, or it was her fucking period, or she's a closet climate crank or something. Whatever the fuck it was, it wasn't my problem until she started sticking it up my nose and decided I was to be moderated for less objectionable activity than Seth's. I don't really care what her fucking excuse for being chickenshit was.
Don't Panic wrote:You got any views on democratically run forums? There was a discussion over the weekend, all viewpoints welcome.
I got some. They won't be popular here; they involve people taking responsibility for it when they fuck up.

Could you please let us know whether you intend posting more of your interesting, scientific expositions and delightful seal pics; or if you are just going to churn out more bullshit about the forum being broken and poorly moderated?
Knowing which Schneibster we are going to get back might help us to know if we actually want you or not.
