schneib, "popular as Seth" is not a phrase that I've seen used much, anywhere.

Kinda funny to read it though. :)

No offence to either of you, I like you both.

You got any views on democratically run forums? There was a discussion over the weekend, all viewpoints welcome.

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.

Sorry Dev, there are hundreds of people who I will listen to criticism of my conduct in this thread, but you're not one of them.
Dev was the only one who didn't fan the drama.

Nice try, though.

No, I seemed impervious to the excuses you were trying to make for not thinking carefully. It's called "asking inconvenient questions." They wouldn't be inconvenient if you didn't have to think to answer them. Duh.

I'm sorry but I won't be involved in any gang fuckings, I prefer one on one. More intimate that way.

Well, I found a place to talk about politics anyway. TPM. Makes this place look pretty amateur in terms of moderation, but pretty advanced in terms of technology.

I notice the asshole "moderator" from ratskep disappeared after I clipped him in front of the staff who's supposed to be running things over there. They've got the same chickenshit attitude about "the lusers" as you do here.

IIRC, those quotes (quite handy in themselves) required changing the actual (textual) content of the posts, and the modification package that then read these "newfangled" posts correctly was no more supported. So when the basic forum software one day would develop into something not compatible with the modification, every single quote ever made with the modification would be broken. And the breakage looked really ugly - it was nigh impossible to read: pieces of each post in the wrong order in the layout, or the whole post stuffed into the margin, or... *shudder*

'Twas not a nice night when it had to be fixed (the modification removed) and all how-many-hundred posts edited back to what they used to be (luckily Pappa figured out a script for that in the end). Were you not here?

I dunno, maybe Ronja's got a God complex, or it was her fucking period, or she's a closet climate crank or something. Whatever the fuck it was, it wasn't my problem until she started sticking it up my nose and decided I was to be moderated for less objectionable activity than Seth's. I don't really care what her fucking excuse for being chickenshit was.

I got some. They won't be popular here; they involve people taking responsibility for it when they fuck up.
