The 5th Dimension really holds the key.
Stephen Hawking should take a lesson. When the moon is in the seventh house, and Jupiter aligns with Mars, then peace will guide the planet, and love will steer the stars.

The point I was trying to make, and I believe Hawking is as well, is that the universe expands into the 5th dimension before the 4th..

Since quantum effect can precede causes, maybe this just happened as a result of something that will happen in the future.Śiva wrote:The point I was trying to make, and I believe Hawking is as well, is that the universe expands into the 5th dimension before the 4th..
And, the apparent expansion of the universe may be an illusion. http://phys.org/news/2013-08-cosmologist-universe.html

Hawking's model covers a contracting universe, however his doesn't do anything extremely silly like having time running backward with babies plopping back into the womb and zombies being born out of their graves.

Well this is 'general serious discussion'. I take it from your name that you have an absurdist view of science.

I always find these questions less profound than they purport to be. If there was nothing, we wouldn't be asking this question. That's why, in this instance, there is something. What am I missing?

Everything is a function of what it is just as much as it is a function of what it is not. There must be a boundary in between because otherwise you cannot distinguish between the two. How do you know, for example, that a chair is a chair unless you know what a chair is NOT? Old Descartes was of a similar opinion and came up with the Cartesian quadrants.
