Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Can't tell. None of your googleusercontent links ever work. Not here and not at ratzkep. Your links to photos.google.com/share work provided you open them in a new tab.
If you want to share photos you have uploaded to the net I suggest you open a free account with https://postimages.org and do it from there. As easy to use as Photobucket despite providing more options. That's what I've used since they went into self-destruct mode.

The only possible downside is that it might do a Photobucket one day, but Google has shut free services down too without a care in the world.

The rose glasses was just a web link. Not all work here.
Software upgrade would be nice to drop images etc.

Or covid restrictions.
Or covid restrictions.

I was given a year of free milkshakes once. The year passed and I hadn’t bothered to get even one.

That statement comes despite the fact that the rate of death is still elevated, with an average of nearly 1,700 people dying in the U.S. each day. On Wednesday, more than 2,100 deaths were reported across the country, according to a Reuters tally.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
No, it's not wishful thinking. We have no covid restrictions; and while I'll still put on a mask at a crowded indoor event, I can't overstate how glad I am for myself and family to see covid receding.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
It's wishful thinking if you think it is receding .... places are getting cases and death tolls higher than they have ever been.
We are ALL tired of the fucking pernicious bug but it doesn't care ....it just goes on chewing through willing hosts.
Is a mask such a big ask>

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
The truth about the pandemic lies somewhere between "it's almost gone away, hooray!" and "it's still an ongoing catastrophe".
It would be wrong to downplay the continuing deaths and infections, plus the trauma from long covid, but at the same time, immunity levels in most populations (via vaccination or recovered infections) are growing, treatment options are increasing and communities are finding ways to live (with some caution) with covid.

Re: The Coronavirus Thread
Our case fatality rate is 1.2%, our overall fatality rate for the entire population is 0.3%. Yeah it's awful but if the worst pandemic in like EVAR has a 99.7% survival rate one might be forgiven for wondering what the point of continued Draconian regulations actually is. We haven't had any mandates for well over a year. California took a different approach, with some of the more stringent (and ongoing) regulations and mandates. Their case fatality numbers are 1.0%, and their overall fatality rate is 0.2%. So mandates seem to have some effect, but we also have a larger percentage of old farts like me who croak more frequently.
So if people are really worried about masks they can move to California (which is losing population). If they're not they can move to the South (which they are, in droves).

Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
