DAWSON COUNTY, Neb. (KSNB) - Eastbound Interstate 80 between Brady and Cozad is back open after a large grass fire in Dawson County forced a closure Thursday.

Nebraska State Patrol said eastbound I-80 was closed at the Brady exit for over an hour. Traffic had to be diverted to Highway 30. Westbound I-80 remained open at the time.

The fire spanned 4.5 miles along Paulsen’s gravel pit (Willow Island Road) in Gothenburg.
