I imagine there's a better chance of a formation of pigs flying over Mecca than this happening, but you never know ...beige wrote:Pappa wrote:Lab-Tory.klr wrote:Of course. And Plaid Cymru want 300 million because they think they've been short-changed... .... erm.. yeah ok..RuleBritannia wrote:Well the election is over, 649 out of 650 seats have been decided (the final constituency election is on May 27).
306 Conservative
258 Labour
057 Liberal Democrat
Which pretty much leaves the ballance of power in the hands of the Plaid Cymru-SNP "alliance", with the combined total of 9 seats. Whom, I think, would not enter formal coalition with either side, but are more likely to vote with Lib/Lab on an issue-by-issue case.
So I think the parliament is pretty much as "hung" as it could possibly be.
Plaid do have some pretty good reasons for asking for that 300 million. Firstly, they're not asking for any of the other 3 billion that's being cut, they just want the 0.3 billion. The reason they're asking for that figure is because that's the amount the independent Holtham Commission says Wales should have, the amount is also and backed up by the recent budget report.Elessarina wrote:

Which means the government can't do anything.RuleBritannia wrote: So I think the parliament is pretty much as "hung" as it could possibly be.

They're not trying to get more money, just the fair share.
Well, as far as I know Wales doesn't want it's own parliament as yet. Maybe we will want that one day, but it doesn't seem to be all that popular at this time.Elessarina wrote:Sorry Pappa but if Wales wants their own parliament they should have that and manage themselves. Having Wales and Scotland involved in an English election where members actions do not affect their own constituents and have influence over what happens in England is an unfair system. Wales and Scotland have no prescription charges yet we do in England still there are other issues as well. The whole system is fucked up
