A one-quart freezer bag achieves the same goal much more cheaply for a handgun.

Fallacious appeal to common practice. Just because the rest of the world's governments are full of assholes who care more about their own power and position than they do about the rights of their citizens doesn't mean that it's an acceptable or moral practice.

Speaking of which (not trrrrrrst sharks, but the beach and surf), I resolved yesterday I was going to go for a swim today. I haven't been in the surf for about a month or more, due to it being winter (and generally cloudy/rainy). And I shit you not, just now as I was typing this there was a report on the news of a guy attacked by a shark about 50kms down the coast from me about 6 hours ago. :/

Well, I was the only person in the ocean in about 500metres in either direction. But I went in in front of the caravan park, so if I did get eaten they could drag my parts out of the sea.

Shit or not, in Gloucester there are reports of people getting attacked by a much more dangerous animal most days of the year.
Sometimes they even wear police uniforms.

Jeez, just a few kilometres up the beach from yesterdays attack was another attack. This time it only knocked a surfer of his board. Didn't eat him, thankfully. I'm not going for a swim today anyway, as there's a brisk cool breeze. Will be too cold.
