So what? The risk of being hit by a car and injured is out of my control. What does that have to do with anything? If I want to accept the risk of being hit by a car and not having medical insurance, that's my right, just as it's my right to refuse to pay for medical insurance even if I get cancer. And it's particularly and expressly my right not to pay for YOUR health care, or anyone elses.
Life's a bitch and then you die. So what? Who cares? Big deal. Death gets us all in the end. Please don't demand that I sacrifice MY money merely to give YOU the opportunity to live a few months longer. That's YOUR problem, not mine. Most of these genetic risks aren't understood but one day they probably will be. When that happens health insurance anywhere will be a dead industry, if you are 'low' risk people won't bother getting insurance for it, if you are high risk you won't be able to afford it
