I would sincerely appreciate it if I could have a list of inconsistencies in the Bible handy, so that the next time I hear "The Bible is internally consistent" in an argument with religious folks, I can pull a few things out of my hat to counter it.
I've looked up a couple of websites, but the more ammo the better, and the posters on this forum are really really good at this stuff....

Is this a site you have seen? It appears to offer plenty from which to choose.

http://www.biblegateway.com/ show's the most inconsistencies.
Of the top of my head, I like when Jesus tells his followers to hate their family and cast them away, for it's the only way into heaven. Paraphrasing, of course.

Oh yes, one of my favourites.
I guess I'm sort of looking for people's pet ones that they bring out in discussions on the topic - especially any that seem to have stopped a "Bible is consistent" preacher in their tracks.

Re: Biblical inconsistencies
Matthew has an angel tell Joseph to flee to Egypt immediately after jesus is born. They spend 3 years there, allegedly, in order to avoid Herod's infanticide. On the other hand, Luke states that the couple hung around in Bethlehem for a while and then returned to Nazareth via Jerusalem.
There are dozens of similar inconsistencies between these two gospels (the only two with the nativity story.) Check out the genealogies leading to Joseph from David given in those two gospels as well - completely different ancestors and numbers of generations!

A book is a version of the world. If you do not like it, ignore it; or offer your own version in return.
