I think that it was a sort of joke story intended to imply that the Ammonite and Moabite people have disreputable origins.
Sort of like "Yo' mother was a ..."
One of my favorites is from 2 Samuel 24 and 1 Chronicles 21, where God gets pissed at King David for taking a census, with no reason given. Does God hate statistics?

Ooh I like that animator, I have seen work of him yeaaars back, but i recognized the voice and style. I love this stuff! :Dit really shows that the bible has some messed up shit when you think about it some more.
