Re: Good foreign films with subtitles
Funny thing about good foreign films with subtitles is that by the time I finished watching one I have completely forgotten that it was subtitled. I can only guess. Was Babette's Feast subtitled? I've watched that film half a dozen times now, and still am unsure if it was or not.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops. - Stephen J. Gould

“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. ... The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up, But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “... But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.” - Ilhan Omar

Yeah, I'm so used to watching foreign films that I don't even think about the subtitles anymore. Also, I'm hard of hearing so I now watch every film with subtitles turnt onHermit wrote:Funny thing about good foreign films with subtitles is that by the time I finished watching one I have completely forgotten that it was subtitled. People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.
But those letters are not silent.
They're just waiting their turn.
