Re: Could We Survive a Mega Tsunami?
I once saw a picture of a house that was designed to become a boat in the event of a tsunami. It had a fixed cradle part and a boat part that slotted into each other - with a mechanism for closing the hatches between them and freeing up the boat bit if the water levels rose too high.. Some bloke in Alabama or Louisiana - one of those hurricany-floody states. It was pre-Facebook I think. Something I got in an email. But it looked legit - albeit untested...

It's great living in a country away from all those stupid natural disasters.

Well, to be fair, you did have to deal with 900 fucking years of fucking English fucking oppression...Animavore wrote:It's great living in a country away from all those stupid natural disasters.

Why do you think I live 5280 feet above sea level? Idiots who live at, or below sea level deserve to get drowned.

Good to live on a hill. Reading Ayn Rand helps there.

I live well enough away from the sea to be free from risk.
As for reading Ayn Rand, I'd rather get a lobotomy, that'd be less painful.

It's like a Bible to me. Atlas Shrugged is a constant source of inspiration.Svartalf wrote:I live well enough away from the sea to be free from risk.
