Greece & WW2
Reading the Germans applied the same sort of austerity on Ireland as Greece and can't figure the difference in outcome?
Maybe found a clue?

Nobody has applied austerity on Greece or Ireland. Nobody can.Scumple wrote:Reading the Germans applied the same sort of austerity on Ireland as Greece and can't figure the difference in outcome?

They did it themselves, to persuade someone to lend them money.
Greece has complete freedom to apply as little or as much austerity as it likes to itself.
What it can't do, is demand to be lent money.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

Re: Greece & WW2
That ain't gonna happen. The EU is 500 million people. Greece is ten million.
And all of the other ''shaky'' countries are making good progress, heading in the right direction economically. A few years ago, people did have some worries about contagion, but that has gone away.
The markets are the best guide to what is likely to happen. And the answer is, very little.

If your ship has a hole in it, it's advisable to block it up, not leave it to get bigger.
