Catholic Chruch won't let me leave.

Post by Animavore » Tue Sep 24, 2013 4:24 pm

As a few of you might know I made a move to leave the Catholic Church a couple of years ago but before I got to post my request they stopped allowing defections for a time. This hasn't been resolved and doesn't look to be any time soon.

Like it has any importance?
What counts is that they never see me, nor, even more importantly, a cent of my money.

It does have importance. The Church, when issuing their views on matters, are wont to say, "We speak for X amount of Catholics when we say __________" etc. They falsely use the numbers to affect policy.

Not in my name.

Shit on their doorstep until they want you to leave. :dunno:
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

Bizarrely enough, I was going to suggest the exact same course of action - because it was Ani.

What does that say then? :ask:

Can't you get yourself excommunicated? Maybe make a public statement in support of abortion or same-sex marriage? The Pope just ex-communicated some priests a few days ago for that.

Ani, I read "stopped allowing defecations". I should put my glasses on....

Which gives you even more of an incentive to shit on their doorstep!

Getting excommunicated is harder as a layperson than as a priest.

Obviously, that campaign was far too successful for the Church's liking.

Excommunication is the way to go. How cool would that be? I'd fucking LOVE to be excommunicated. Do they do the whole Latin thing, consign you to Hell, bang an upside down crucifix on the floor? Could you get a video of the proceedings?

How about buttfucking a sheep on the altar during Christmas Midnight Mass? I bet that would work. Just make sure it's an adult sheep, there's probably a Papal dispensation for pedosheepia.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I've been informed by Byron on RatSkep that I could commit a heresy.

And yes, excommunication would be very, very cool :smug:

You were right, the bishop decreed that it was illegal to shit on a church's doorstep, anybody doing so will be forcefully taken through catechism again.

Surely you must have posted thousands of heretical statements on forums over the last few years?

Yep. I can't go a day without uttering an heretical statement. But as I'm not a priest it's just not that easy for me to get excommunicated. I guess because I'm not supposed to be teaching Catholicism and my views wouldn't be seen to be influential to the flock. Even on the Wiki list of people excommunicated it mostly comprises of priests and nuns.

Can you fast-track your way into the clergy? :zilla:
