Here! It is awesome.

“You know that elephant seal I made? The one with the awesome floppy nose?”
“Yes, evolution, that was a pretty good nose.”
“And you know how it kept getting parasites up inside it?”
“I heard that was an issue.”
“I fixed it.”
“You fixed it? What did you do, give the elephant seal more protective mucus? A better immune system? Stronger nose hairs?”
“Nope! That all seemed too hard. I just made a nose-picking bird.”
“A nose-picking bird.”
“Works great!”
The green careening planet
spins blindly in the dark
so close to annihilation.
Listen. No one listens. Meow.

I doubt if you'll see one of those. It LOOKS like one of those New Zealand parrots. the Kea If it is, I wouldn't let it near MY nose, They're vicious little buggers. I'm not sure about the colour though.
Maybe a Falklands Islands hawk.

Sealy looks pretty blasé about the whole nose-reaming operation. I would assume that the process is nothing too vicious.
And (seriously) organism-centric, evolutionary niches tend to be filled far quicker by outside agents than by natural selection in the host organism!

I don't think so, because it doesn't seem to have webbed feet.
I thought the beak looks parrot-like, but you can't see it clearly. Keas have green in their feathers, but maybe the young ones are more brown. They do have a reputation for taking ticks off animals, but they will pick at a wound too, and do real damage to sheep.

I chuckled....

“Hey! Hey! I think I finally made something cute.”
“Oh, yeah? Let’s see.”
“It’s a ‘shoebill.’ It’s big and blue and adorable. Nice, right?”
“It’s… hm. I don’t know. I like the blue, but something about those eyes is kind of creeping me out right now.”
“What? Come on. Those are friendly eyes. It wants to be your friend.”
“Okay. Okay, yeah. You’re right, evolution, I’m sorry. Should I feed it, maybe? What does it eat?”
“Baby crocodiles.”
“Oh Jesus Christ.”

Oh yeh. Easy when you know how.
I just remembered a David Attenborough (I think) documentary on the Falklands. There were elephant seals in it, and that hawk.
I remember them saying how persistent and curious the hawk was, as noticed by the soldiers in the Falklands war.
Nothing about pecking bugs out of the noses of seals though.
