The War You Don't See - John Pilger documentary

Post by PsychoSerenity » Wed Dec 15, 2010 5:40 pm

About the role of mainstream media in war, and their failure to investigate the accuracy of what they report.

I heard about this just after it was shown on ITV - available for those in the UK here.

I don't know of any youtube or torrents yet but it probably won't be long.

Here's a trailer anyway.

[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

right on, should be good!
Our struggle is not against actual corrupt individuals, but against those in power in general, against their authority, against the global order and the ideological mystification which sustains it.

I watched it yesterday. Pilger is a hero for telling it like it is. He should be the one getting the peace prize, because you'll never get peace while the govornments can con the public.
All the journalists should be educated by Pilger. They have a lot to answer for, and that includes the people at the top in the media.
These days, it's just about circulation, the truth doesn't get a look-in.

While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

This film was a really good exposé of how the media report war, the history of embedded journalists and how independent journalists are suppressed.

Just got around to watching this, excellent film. Amazing that some people, thankfully not too many, still refuse to see that america is a terrorist state. What a horrendous use of propaganda and terrorism.
