Terminology

When I was lead astray and tried to be a UU for a couple of years...there is a thread...I noticed that they had gone and reused all the Christian terms and redefined them in terms of UU thinking. I was not impressed.

Yet, people have these FEELINGS and they label them immediately with some religious, new age or spiritual terms.

I would like to share some human feelings and the feel of community in some situations, but then they start talking and all the religious terminology comes out again. So we need new terms. That capture the feel but dump the woo.

1 Spirituality. I know what they mean, but the word is loaded already. Any ideas?
2 humanism
sounds ok, but then there is some religious and secular schism
3 nature
loaded, as then you start with evolution/creation or gentle god who was first cause
4 universe
something too big to grasp
5 morals
as soon as abortion comes up, I have no morals*

You could use terms from philosophy, but it would just confuse religious people. And me. I was confused by philosophy more than religion, at least Christianity, written for simple folk.
