Well, that's odd ain't it?

Glenn beck, Sarah Palin... anybody else want to tell me the Tea Party isn't batshit insane?

On top of that, the CNN poll mentioned is amusing given how on the radio I heard discussion about the problems of the extremely low level of financial literacy in the US.
"The fact is that far more crime and child abuse has been committed by zealots in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammed than has ever been committed in the name of Satan. Many people don't like that statement but few can argue with it."

Speaking of "batshit insane":

"Some black leaders and civil rights groups have criticised the organisers for their insensitivity, accusing them of deliberately commandeering a day of immense significance for black Americans."

So only blacks are allowed to speak and whites have to shut up on Martin Luther King day? Sounds to me like it isn't just the tea party that sometimes espouses racist views.

Well, considering the tea party chose that location on that day, I would say "the fuck are you doing?" too. They're not a civil rights group so what the hell are they doing there?

They're exercising "the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Maybe they think Barack Obama will pay more attention on Martin Luther King day. Or maybe they want to attract people celebrating Robert E. Lee's birthday, which is generally celebrated on the same day:

It doesn't really matter. No day is reserved for a single race or issue.

Or, maybe they're really just opportunistic pricks. Which they are, given they're headed by Glenn Beck.
