Further tests are still to be carried out on the fragments, which were discovered late last month.

"Further tests"? What test have been done so far? The report failed to mention anything that would suggest these religious relics were actually what some claim them to be. How could they tell anyway?

Maybe they looked at the colour and smelled the bones!

Sometimes even when the flesh does decay the bones themselves will manifest signs of sanctity. They may be honey colored or give off a sweet aroma . Some relics will exude myrrh. The absence of such manifestations is not necessarily a sign that the person is not a Saint.

Imperishable? That's an easy test. Hit them with a hammer. If they turn to dust they must be fakes.
