I thought the film was orgasm-inducing. The only thing I didn't like was the little scene at the end in which Night Owl gets his ass patted by what-her-name's (sorry, I'm shit at remembering names) mother. Not that bit in particular. Just that whole scene. It seemed strangely out of place and didn't fit the mood or tone of the rest of the film, and it also seemed unnecessary. The movie could have ended without it. Was it in the theatrical release? I don't remember. I just watched the extended director's cut.
Anyway, I thought the film was exceedingly well done. Except for that one particular scene, it didn't hit a wrong note with me. I was puzzled by the negative reviews it got. I mean, even if I disagree with the critics I can usually see where they're coming from, and I appreciate they're point of view. But this...it was as if we watched a completely different film. Reminds me of the reviews I just read of Wanted, another comic book adaptation that had me reaching for Kleenex after watching it to clean up the mess I'd made in my pants. It was, like, one of the coolest movies I've ever seen in my life. And critics were saying it was absolute shit, just like director Timur what's-his-face's Russian Night Watch trilogy was absolute shit before it. And I was like, HUH? WHAT? Are we watching the same films?!

I really REALLY liked this movie.
One of the best adaptations of a GN I have seen.
9/10 from me.

I watched the Directors Cut a few days ago and I have to say that I loved every minute of it! Although I still wish they had kept the walking on water scene from the GN and put it on the big screen.

I literally have no memory of that happening. I remember him walking up a wall at one point to get to Ozymandais' room.
