Oh hai there, just checking in. Perhaps each mayoral candidate should put up a 50-word manifesto? That would give us all something to go on? :ask:

It appears I am going to lynched, keeping up the time-honoured mafia tradition of killing me on the first day. Fine. Go ahead.

However you should look very carefully at the scumbags who are voting for me once I've gone.

Take Durro.

Those who have played with him before know he has a massive chip on his shoulder about being lynched early, because he somehow feels people must be dying to lynch him in revenge for his habit of mind fucking people. Accordingly, when he's guilty, he comes out in a big flash of trying to get an innocent character lynched. Unfortunately, not having any evidence to back up his nefarious allegations means he must resort to some very dodgy logic. You who know him no exactly what I mean.

This time he's gone off extremely dodgy evidence... he points at a number of people voting for me to be mayor.
Twinkie, Myself, Animavore, Sifaka. He has somehow convinced a few credulous idiots that if we were part of a criminal gang we'd make things so fucking obvious. But all those votes can be easily explained:
Twinkie: voted for me as mayor because someone else had already voted for me to be lynched.
Myself: bored innocent with no special role who wants something to do.
Animavore: constantly going with the leading candidate
Sifaka: revenge for me nominating her for mayor last time

He follows up by pointing towards a continued pattern here... based on 2 of those people changing their votes... and still pointing to that as some sort of pattern connecting at me even though I have not!

And what sort of idiotic mafia team would come out so early in the game and all vote for the same mayoral candidate, who himself would be part of the group? To just get an extra vote in a lynching? Only a bunch of total fools would do that.

When I am dead and shown evidence, you'll see that what I am saying is 100% true. So lynch Durro next. Then Skinny Puppy. Unless you get better intel in the meantime, of course.

Dear Citizens of LOLville

as requested i will now give my 50 word (give or take a few) talk on why I believe< I will be a wonderful and wise leader.

Firstly I have awesome skills and a sweet bike. Secondly I enjoy having followers and treating them with patroniacle (it's a word now) kindness and understanding.

Witticism proves to be someone who I believe is to deep within the ebils and hence we cannot trust him, although I shall hire him as lolcat caption maker when I am crowned you leader. I also enjoy chocolate, like any good mayor should and bathe daily. I have a deep understanding of emoticons and am also very good looking in real life, which helps i believe with the voting. I don't do drugs but enjoy cheese on toast and listening to others having one sided arguments with the lady reading the news. I am also never tardy. All these things combined I believe embody the perfect mayor, so if you enjoy cuddles, cheeseburgers and comfy toilet seat covers then vote REDIAL! may the force be with you, because you're worth it :td:

Hmmm. i like his policies.

I'll see what Witti and Durro have to say before deciding.

Redial is a her.

I know nothing about her really, except what I saw in the last game on Ratskep. She's fun and quirky and brings colour to the game. I can't vouch for or against her as an innocent or guilty player though.

Well that clinches it for me. I realise that it's bad luck that Virphen was killed on day one of the recent ratskep mafia game and as the game mod, I felt bad for his sake. He's a smart guy and excellent mafia game player and was a loss for the innocent team.

But I've never had any chip on my shoulder about being lynched early on in the game before that one and actually made jokes in the thread about going for the record lynch vote tally when the jig was up. Go visit the thread to see. My role was to make an outrageous accusation and get some innocent lynched - it nearly worked - as well as flush out some key innocents. My game was to be short, as I'd had some bad personal news and I wasn't up for a lengthy game. I overplayed my hand somewhat though and took my beating in good grace and exited the game for real life concerns. I'll note though that we got the Bodyguard that very night round thanks to my fishing expedition and I left the game satisfied that I'd done my job, even when our Godfather, Skinny Puppy, was MIA.

So, we have Virphen making patiently false allegations to smear my character, which is very unlike him and, given that we worked together on a recent mafia game, it's a wholly fabricated assessment of my personality and our relationship, which is actually quite good. We're friends when we're not role playing in mafia games. This unwarranted and personal attack is not reflective of his true feelings and is obviously a poorly erected smokescreen to hide something. If he was innocent, he'd simply say that I was barking up the wrong tree and should reconsider the paucity of evidence in the early stages of the game. He would have appealed to my reason and logic and probably gotten me to change my mind. But this irrational and deceitful attack is totally out of character for Virphen. So too calling people "idiotic sheep" and "a few credulous idiots".

As for an idiotic mafia team going public, it's the very sort of reverse psychology ploy that I overdid last mafia game and the gutsy Virphen would have the balls to try again more subtlely if he drew a bad guy role. I was merely suspicious that 4 players were following each others' voting pattern before, but this very sorry excuse for a smokescreen is the final clincher. Virphen is acting very strangely indeed and it's either because he's a bad guy, or he had a key innocent role and I'm accidentally poisoning his game. However, given that we can't PM and haven't received any clues or other assistance, there's no way a key innocent could form a voting bloc, as they couldn't trust anyone. But I assume that in this game, as in every other mafia game, the bad guys know who each other is, can communicate with each other either via PM or an external writeboard, and can vote as a bloc.

My vote stands for Virphen. If my hunch is correct, then Animavore, Sifaka and Twinkle will be on my radar in future rounds. If Virphen is innocent, I apologise sincerely in advance and admit that perhaps I was jumping at shadows when I saw 4 players vote the same way and then 3 of them who'd been online change exactly the same way again with no reason but apparent coordination. The laws of probability mean that while it may be coincidental, it's unlikely to be, so I'm sticking with my vote for Virphen.

Edit : I'm always open to discussion as to why this should change. Or more abuse if you want to stay in character Virphen.
