The owners of a 70-story Panama City hotel tower formerly managed by President Donald Trump’s companies are accusing them of stiffing the Panamanian government.
In a legal filing Monday in an ongoing lawsuit in Manhattan federal court, private equity manager Orestes Fintiklis and the company he leads, Ithaca Capital Partners, claimed that two Trump companies failed to pay Panamanian taxes equal to 12.5% of the management fees they drew from the hotel.
The Trump entities were allegedly supposed to withhold those fees in advance and pay them to the government regardless of whether the property was profitable or not. Instead, the Trump companies simply kept the money, the suit claims, “thus intentionally evading taxes.”

Mayes and her team have been preparing for months for the anticipated whirlwind of activity as soon as Trump re-enters the White House on 20 January. They have “scoured”, as she put it, Project 2025, the rightwing playbook for a Trump second term compiled by the Heritage Foundation.
She has also been working closely with other Democratic state attorneys general, noting that between them they filed more than 100 lawsuits during Trump’s first presidency, winning 80% of them.
“One of our strengths is that we are doing this very much together, we are united and we are organized,” Mayes said.
The importance of cross-state cooperation is likely to be all the more critical over border issues.
Mayes said that she was working with her Democratic counterparts Rob Bonta of California and Raúl Torrez of New Mexico – with only the Republican attorney general of Texas, Ken Paxton, taking a very different, anti-immigrant approach.
“Three of the four border states have attorneys general in Democratic hands and we are going to fight for due process and for individual rights,” she explained.

When President-elect Donald Trump announced that Kash Patel will be his nominee for director of the FBI, my reaction wasn’t subtle. In an appearance on MSNBC, I warned that, if confirmed, Patel “would be like if you crossed Alex Jones with J. Edgar Hoover.”
It’s an assessment that I stand behind three weeks later, even as Patel’s nomination has failed to garner the same kind of pushback from Republican senators as some of Trump’s other controversial picks. If my comparison comes across as glib or, as one outlet called it, “apoplectic,” it’s because Hoover’s tyranny and similarities to Jones, the conspiracy theorist and former Infowars host, have been downplayed over the decades since his death. It also then fails to acknowledge how much worse Patel is poised to be if given the chance.

RFK Jr:
Kennedy has taken a strong anti-Ozempic stance in his pledge to tackle high rates of chronic disease, including diabetes and obesity. Throughout his own failed presidential run and his "Make America Healthy Again" campaign, he urged Americans to focus on their diets and other components of healthy living, such as regular exercise.

If RFK Jr gets to run healthcare, we may have to pay cash for all vaccinations and pills. It will take him more than 4 years to disable the FDA.

Project 2025 is the concept and the plan.

Trump’s lies unravel as he abandons tariffs, embraces visas, and sells out supporters to appease billionaires like Musk. Critics slam his greed and broken promises, exposing a desperate grab for wealth and power. MAGA fractures under betrayal, leaving his shaky coalition riddled with distrust and infighting.

With Republicans holding only 28 out of 50 state legislatures, there’s little chance of a GOP-dominated convention’s amendments getting rammed through and approved. Ultimately, while I’m not going to tell any state’s Democrats that it’s unwise to rescind their state’s call for a convention, I think it’s best for now to leave the idea of a backdoor reboot to the country solidly in the realm of political fan fiction.

The two biggest crybabies on this planet are Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
If you know anyone else competing for that title, just let me know.
