Feminist Germaine Greer calls Princess Diana the "worst f**k in the country" before saying we wouldn't like her if she was still alive

Germaine Greer has slammed Princess Diana in a brutal TV interview in which she calls her the "worst f**k in the country".
The Australian author goes on to say that Diana, who was tragically killed in a car crash 20 years ago, would have been dumped by "40 or 50" men by now.

During an appearance on Sam Delaney's News Thing, which is set to air on channel RT UK tomorrow night, the feminist also says that we wouldn't like the Princess of Wales if she was still alive today.

Host Sam says: "Germaine, if Diana was still alive today, would she just be one of these people eating kangaroo penis on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here?"
She responds: "I expect not actually, but it's interesting to think would we still like her if she was 56? And I think we probably wouldn't, we didn't even like the Queen when she was 56. We don't like middle-aged women very much. How would Diana have middle-aged?
"I mean, what would the tally be of the men who had dumped her by that stage? It would be 40 or 50 probably. Worst f**k in the country, by all accounts."
Sam asks: "Is that right? I didn't know that. Is that what the gossip is?"

"Well you've got to move in special circles to be told this kind of thing," Germaine responds.
Sam then asks Germaine if she thinks Diana was a good role model to young women in this country and whether or not she could be called a feminist icon.
Germaine laughs: "No."
She goes on: "She was too dependent on the love of men, I think. And she was prepared to humiliate herself to get it and she blew it every time. I think she just didn't understand that neediness is not sexy and that's probably what went wrong.
"I mean, it's such a catalogue of disasters and your heart does ache for her and to end up with Dodi Al Fayed, or Dodi Fayed as the Egyptians prefer to call him, that was just the wrong end of the upward spiral, you might think."

Camilla isn't much to look at, but apparently in real life she is captivating. I suppose they do say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

Diana died a few weeks before I jetted off to university in the USA. Bless the Yanks, several of them gave me their condolences over her passing. I didn't have the heart to mention that I was far more upset about the poor start my football team had made to the season than our erstwhile princess.

I met her briefly in about 1970 when I went to the offices of Oz magazine to try, unsuccessfully, to flog them some of my art school psychedelic style of drawings. I can't remember if the Female Eunuch had come out when I did but it was published that year. She was in any case well known in what we laughingly in retrospect called 'underground' circles.

She sat on the edge of a desk and asked me about art college. I was totally in awe of all those guys and I have no idea what I said in response. She seemed nice enough and very brainy. You could tell!

She would have known and would have answered I imagine too! She did a photo shoot round about then for Oz (or it may have been the International Tines - another 'underground' paper) of her naked with vagina on display and legs up around her head. The photo was then cut in concentric circles and 'spun' so the segments were out of sinc but the vagina, as I recall, in the 'bull's eye'. She didn't give a fuck and she was much loved for that.

It's worth adding for those of you of fewer years that full frontal nudity was unheard of back then except for in under the counter taboo type publications.
