The difference is that folks opposing the Wicked camper slogans were trying to get them removed by law - they've moved to have councils ban them. Not everyone is going to like a given joke or another, but there is a fundamental difference in taking exception to one or the other as a matter of taste, and seeking to render them unlawful.
