Re: Spooks, Day 5
I am sorry to my team mates and to Meph; I am more than annoyed with myself for reading born-again-atheist's vote switch as being more than just spreading confusion.
Anyway, here's the voting for yesterday:
Mephistopheles
Blip
Oblivion
DP
Mantisdreamz
Higgs2
Sifaka
Magicziggy
Magic Ziggy
Redial
Timinane
Animavore
Uselesstwit
No vote
Witticism
And here's the voting record by living player:
Oblivion: Blip; Redial; Redial; Mephistopheles
DP: no vote; Charlou; no vote; Mephistopheles
Animavore: Mephistopheles; Charlou; Ghatanothoa; Magicziggy
Blip: Oblivion; Charlou; Sifaka; Mephistopheles
mantisdreamz: Blip; Charlou; Ghatanothoa; Mephistopheles
Timinane: Virphen; no vote; Magicziggy; Magicziggy
Sifaka: no vote; Charlou; no vote; Mephistopheles
Magicziggy: Skinny Puppy; Charlou; Ghatanothoa; Mephistopheles
Uselesstwit: Higgs2; Ghatanothoa; Magicziggy; Magicziggy
Witticism: Skinny Puppy; no vote; no vote; no vote
Redial: Animavore; Virphen; no vote; Magicziggy
Here's yesterday's player post count:
Oblivion 19
DP 3
Animavore 7
blip 13
mantisdreamz 5
Timinane 1
Sifaka 1
Magicziggy 6
Uselesstwit 5
Witticism 2
Redial 3
And here is an odd thought. All the nine people who have demised were vanilla town, with the exception of Virphen who was 'town bomb'. There are 11 left in the game and an unknown number of these are evil. No innocent special role player has yet been hit or lynched in error. How likely is this if there is the usual complement of special roles? This is a question to more experienced players and doesn't help much, I know.
As for today, I'm going back to re-read the threads again.

Correction: eight of the nine were vanilla town. Born-again-atheist was of course evil.Blip wrote:All the nine people who have demised were vanilla town, with the exception of Virphen who was 'town bomb'. This is embarrassing. It's Day 5 ffs.
Least Townish

Magicziggy
Sifaka
Timinane
Animavore almost belongs in this group. But, he's been quite active despite not playing all that pro-town.
Odd that Higgs2 was last night's target. She mentioned some other players late yesterday. I'm going to take a look at the last 2 or 3 hours of yesterday's thread.

Re: Spooks, Day 5
These two posts by Higgs2 were the accusatory ones I was remembering.
why not witticism though? And Animavore changing a vote to a town in at the last minute to save himself is classic scum behavior.
And DP does not seem all that connected into what's happening here in the game, and is a low voter.
She may have been onto something.I also don't see redial as cleared.
What is up with all the votes on Magicziggy? Can someone explain that to me? I'm not seeing the scum tells there, while Witticism does come across pretty scummy. And Meph taking off forever, I have seen scum do that before and almost win the game.

Re: Spooks, Day 5
Oblivion seems to be the most experienced and highly regarded player here.
I would be interested in his opinion of my my crude fumblings through my first attempt at this game.
Does he think I am a naive innocent or a naive scum?
Or does he know.
He's not joining a lynch mob, which I think townies should be doing.
I've voted very badly from a town perspective, and very well from a scum.
Reputations are probably not at stake here as it is very hard to call anyone at the moment.
I jumped on a meph bandwagon for selfish reasons but also because i trusted the mob wisdom.
Half of those voting for meph have to be scum.
I will learn a lot from playing this first game.
Me not scum...

Re: Spooks, Day 5
Yeah, I've been wondering if we have a doc or a seer the last day or two. I haven't wanted to speculate out loud because it could put pressure on a special to out prematurely, but this is day 5. If we have a seer, they've had 4 view opportunities. Even if the views are all town, or if some of them are dead, it could help town narrow down the suspect list today.Blip wrote:I am sorry to my team mates and to Meph; I am more than annoyed with myself for reading born-again-atheist's vote switch as being more than just spreading confusion.

But it looks to me like we're going to have to depend on mafia skills, not specials if we're going to pull out of this dive.
Re: Spooks, Day 5
We can't afford to lose another town. And we can't afford to have our votes fractured. There could be as many as 4 scum which is large enough to swing votes towards any innocent. We need to start forming a voting bloc now.

Magicziggy, your play has been very noobish, and some of the things you've posted have looked scummy. But, all new players are that way. In games with a lot of inexperienced players, people get lynched for honest mistakes. I can't remember if I ever put a vote on you in this game, I doubt it. I try to go easy on noobs, which sometimes backfires because new players don't always get town roles.
Re: Spooks, Day 5
yeah, I agree. That's what I tried to do yesterday, when Higgs and Blip were on the same page because they have both played solid town games. I still trust that Blip is town.Animavore wrote:We can't afford to lose another town. And we can't afford to have our votes fractured. I'm not seeing a lot of signs of collusion in the make-up of the successful lynch bandwagons. Maybe Blip has found something, though. It looks like the scum team either isn't coordinating much, or they are purposefully keeping their votes scattered around each day. I guess as long as town keeps targeting town, scum don't need to bloc vote.
It's 3 am my time. This game is really getting to me, but I need to try to get a little more sleep tonight. I'll be back later.

Every 50/50 is wrong. I'm buying a lottery ticket tomorrow.oblivion wrote: I'm a she.![]()
Apologies to you.
If it helps, my constant nagging feeling is witticism is scum.
This is not the same as blind chance which was being applied on day one and two with minimal evidence (when I thought there were more scum - go figure!)
I'm not voting till later, but I can't wait all day. I'll be fast asleep at 6:30am on a sat morning which is nightfall here.
If you want a voting block, I need some early guidance.
Oh, and as a side note, three of our four chickens were "relieved of pecking duties" in the middle of the night. The forth was 10ft up a neighbours tree. She is recovering well. Reinforcements have been called in.
