Damn Ani, you beat me to it. I came back to say just that. Obviously I was joking about my allowance. Being a feminist and having no interest in equality or actual partnership I obviously run the finances and keep Pappa on a strict budget as well as making sure he does all the work around the house, since you know, balance is needed in the universe. I am very forward thinking though, he does get a blowjob on his birthday as long as he has finished all of his chores on time and I feel like it (so never).

The reality is that there's only about 320 delegates (not super-delegates) between them and there are over 1200 votes still to come. ABC in australia reported the other day that Hillary is 84% of the way to the majority line. This is disingenuous as that includes super delegates, which haven't voted yet. When you count actual votes that have occurred, Hillary is 69% of the way there, and Bernie is 55% of the way there.

Find one article that says that Bernie is in front. For comedy to work it has to have some element of truth to it. This is just daft.

Christina Hoff-Sommers, for example, is a modern feminist, but she's not one of the prevailing progressive feminists of the kind dominating public discourse these days. Look at the feminists protesting at UMass and Rutgers recently. They can't even bear that a peaceful, orderly talk by Yiannopoulos, Hoff-Sommers and Crowder would take place on campus. They disrupt, yell, threaten, and interfere with other people trying to speak and be heard.

Who are the reasonable, real, true "modern feminists," rEv? I mean the public figures, writers, publishers, and leaders in the feminist movement that are speaking for the great mass of reasonable, normal, good, feminists these days? Who should we look to? I recall asking you that question, and you named a woman who you said you knew hardly anything about - Germaine Greer - who is 78 years old. Her liberation feminism is a feature of second wave feminism 50 years ago, and she does not represent modern feminism of the first and second decades of this millenium.

She's the "transphobic" feminist -- who actively opposed a transwoman being admitted to a women only college because the transwoman was born a male and was not really a woman. In 2015 students at Cardiff University in Wales petitioned to stop Greer from speaking to the university on "Women & Power: The Lessons of the 20th Century", arguing that her views about transwomen were misogynist. Greer responded by reaffirming, during an interview with the BBC's Newsnight, that she does not regard transwomen as women. LOL. The modern feminists petitioned to stop Greer from talking at a university! That's the modern feminist movement, rEv.

Correct. Hillary is the establishment candidate. She has all the major media outlets in her pocket. She has all the major politicians of the day in her camp. She even has Republican establishment support. She's in the club.

On the issue of monetary support during and after a divorce, there is definitely still a cultural norm that the woman gets the house and the kids, and the man moves out and pays. If the woman outearns the father, then maybe he doesn't pay, but if she has to pay, that is generally seen as outrageous. A man is always called upon to get out there and work. Figure it out. For someone to pay him support - particularly spousal support or alimony -- even where the woman was the bigger earner, is most often seen as unfair to the woman.

And, the cultural zeitgeist is for women to have the choice of staying home or going to work. The man needs to "support" that choice. If the woman wants to stay home and be a homemaker, then hubby should support her choice. If hubby wants to stay home and be a homemaker, well, if the woman chooses to work and doesn't mind him staying home, then that's fine. However, her choice trumps his in our culture.

If we used progressive leftist analysis regarding homemakers, we would point out that the fact that 90% of homemakers are women shows that men are disfavored due to systemic bias in favor of stay at home women. Incentives need to be built into the system, because if things were fair, then there wouldn't be the gross disparity....

The majority of women do not share the views of modern progressive feminism, that's true. That's because most women are smart, and know enough not to align themselves with the leading voices of modern, progressive feminism. That doesn't mean that the leading voices of modern, progressive feminism are not worth opposing. It's a dangerous, sexist movement. That's why so few people these days really want to identify as feminists.

Have you heard the modern feminists with their arguments about how the patriarchy causes all men, even those who don't think they are sexist, to be sexist? Haven't you seen the killallmen hashtag? Women will be treated as equals when they are tasked with dealing with stupid comments in the same way men have to deal with them.

Folks love to say, for example, that it's only female politicians whose appearance is an issue for the press and critics. Of course, that's not true at all. Men are criticized for odd appearance, dress or the like. Chris Christie was criticized for being fat. George Bush for looking like a monkey. Trump for his orange face and hair. The only time mockery or criticism of appearance is considered a no-no is when it's directed at women.

I think generally he's just a bully and can't handle people scrutinising him. That he would use a slur about her femaleness to insult her probably fits in well with his bully persona.

This is probably true, to the extent that such a personality trait is very common among successful business owners and entrepreneurs. They use manipulation strategies to get what they want. He's a bully, but not for it's own sake. He's used to making big demands, and getting angry (and making sure people around him know he will get angry) if he doesn't get what he wants. That's very very common. He's using "personal power" to get people to move their asses for him. Most of us don't like that kind of behavior, but folks like him use it to get shit done. If you want to work with him, you work like your livelihood depends on it.

Yes, the mock of Kelly bleeding from her....eyes or somewhere is well within that persona. It's not sexist, thought, since he uses the same kind of mockery against men, not specifically implying menstruation, of course, but implying whatever pushes buttons in that direction.
