Not coming off well at all . Their all or nothing attitude is a disgrace . They are against women having an abortion if their child has a fatal abnormality . A woman here is talking about having to go to England to get an abortion when her child was diagnosed as anencephalic and saying that Malta and Ireland are the only countries in Europe where women are made to carry these children through that if she was in Poland or Belgium or anywhere else she would get it done and the anti abortionist says Yes but all those countries are countries which do not respect life . There are rather strict rules over here regarding abortions : A doctor performing one after twenty four weeks unless where the life of the mother is in danger would be charged with murder and right too : Most abortions are carried out well before the twenty four weeks however : Like you I would rather live in a world in which abortion did not exist but one has to deal with reality here and the ideology you are referencing is not much use unfortunately : Used to be like that but my position has shifted some what : I am still against unnecessary abortions but not abortion per se : But let me be absolutely sure on one thing : Any woman who has been raped does not need to be told that abortion is wrong : She needs all the support she can get and if that means medical then so be it : I am not surprised some think forcing a child to have an abortion a lesser evil than raping it but I would be lying if I told you that I was not angry when I first read that : But regardless of that no girl or woman should be denied an abortion when she has been raped : That is both immoral and inhuman : No question about it
