So, watching Cuoma press conference while having supper. And he's speaking nonsense, claiming the virus that reached New York from Europe was "a totally different" strain which might have been more virulent and more dangerous.

And that's nonsense. You can look at evolution trees of the virus based on its RNA to know that the virus went to New York from Europe but the changes in the RNA that are used to do that tracing have no influence on the way the virus works...
