Whenever I'm told that I have to pick a side, I choose the "Go fuck yourself!" side :tea:

I think your doubt might be lapsing...
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

I have more doubt than anyone else! How dare you doubt my doubt. I believe my doubt 100%! I am the pope of doubt, me!

That's why I have decided to be in charge of all atheists and issue cards and shit!

Don't doubt it!

Looks like it might be time to go back good ol time Discordianism for me. I'm too cheap to pay for straightforward doubt, what rational certainties are you peddling?

Ha! I was just thinking:
What would Robert Anton Wilson have made of all this? :thinks:

In the meantime, I call everyone now to pick sides (not in comments here, but publicly, via Facebook or other social media): are you with us, or with them; are you now a part of the Atheism+ movement, or are you going to stick with Atheism Less?

Then at least we’ll know who to work with. And who to avoid.
I'm having flashbacks to my days as a fundamentalist christian.
Just....no friggin' way. Every time I think this whole thing can't get any more absurd, the FtB'ers crank it up to 11. This, plus Horace's exchange with GC...unbelievable.

I wonder if anyone actually at FtB will leave over this? I know a couple of the bloggers and I can't believe they're staying there.

I'd imagine he'd see it as a model of groupthink paranoia and be laughing like a fucking drain about the absurdity.

LOL - I posted a polite explanation about why some people may not wish to join their Atheist Plus movement, and they wouldn't necessarily be Atheist Less folks. I explained that the Devil is in the details, and that we may agree that harassment is bad, but disagree that selling allegedly fake jewelry, parodies, and t-shirts that say "I am not a Skepchick" are harassment.

I explained that religious people may well be offended by t-shirts that say "Mary was a slut" but that atheists generally don't give their offense a second thought, and don't call it harassment. So, just because someone is "offended," even intentionally so, does not mean that they are being harassed.

The post was awaiting moderation, but now has disappeared.

FREETHOUGHT BLOGS DOES NOT ALLOW DISSENT.

Period. Freethought blogs is a joke, and the Atheist Plus movement is a sham. Stay away from it, people. If people will just stand up and say "no" to these sycophants, then they will have a "movement" of 30 or 40 condescending crackpots, and they can spend their time jerking each other off in private emails.

They might stop if their ad revenue drops. As long as people keep clicking to see the latest Threethought Ape Lust proclamations, they'll keep thinking they are popular and right and that such behaviour is profitable.

Fucking enabliseristas!!!

It's laughable. And they cannot even see the hypocrisy.
They have become the very thing they most abhor. It really is hilarious.

And just a little surreal, when you consider how seriously these people take themselves... :?
