You cannot bring yourself to simply admit that it's possible that life on earth was designed by an intelligence, even if that intelligence is nothing more than a species that's been around a lot longer than ours has. You could just admit that organisms can be intelligently designed, and that there is nothing in science that demonstrates that such a thing has never happened before or that it could not have happend in the past. It's okay to do so, it's not admitting that there is a God after all, it's just admitting that there might be, or have been, creatures at least as intelligent as we are, and only slightly more skilled at genetic engineering than we are sometime in the deep past. Even Dawkins has the courage to admit this in TGD, so why are you being such a coward?
