Has it been speculated that a certain amount of racism from the conservative party voters was at least partly the key to her winning?

why, the other swine with too much money is of Indian stock?
Because if that's the case, yeah, you're likely quite right, it not like tories needed any darkies to rule over them.

Re: All Things Truss: the story begins...
Things are ramping up with my voluntary group towards our November education summit. Around 360 youngsters from 18 schools in Scotland, Malawi and Nepal, coming together for 3 days to explore local climate, environmental and sustainability issues, collaborate on developing solutions and preparing for community action. Pre-summit meetings with the teachers who'll be facilitating the event have been great - they're so positive and enthusiastic and feeding in a lot of great ideas. Students often sit in on these meetings and chip in too. Participants from lasts year's summit have really helped shape this year's event. Probably the best thing I've been involved in. Anyway...
Young people are brilliant, and face a lot of challenges, but it seems our new Prime Minister is rather fossil fuel corp friendly and more than a bit green critical, and during the hustings for the party leadership said she was concerned about young people being 'radicalised' by woke environmental extremists. People around her have dropped heavy hints about outlawing groups like XR or Insulate Britain as terrorist organisations!
First they came for the youngsters, but I wasn't a youngster ... etc etc

The only way to get at the coal quickly & cheaply is using the mega machines like Germany employs. Will be great to see the country returning to its industrial roots and away from all this green wokism. Our industrial heritage is centuries long. Won't take much more than a generation to steam roller all this green brainwashing out of the way. By 2028 I'm guess we'll see the clear divide between the failed green revolution and the real money in coal.

Does that mean we should reread old classics like How Green Was My Valley ?aufbahrung wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 11:44 amThe only way to get at the coal quickly & cheaply is using the mega machines like Germany employs. That's quick. Although I'd use small 'tomic munitions to frack more and quicker than conventional methods.

New British Prime Minister Liz Truss appointed Therese Coffey as her deputy prime minister and as health minister.

Re: All Things Truss: the story begins...
Under Johnson (presumably not literally, but you never know with Johnson) Coffey was the one they'd put up to go on telly or radio too literally defend anything. For Coffey, demonstrating unwavering loyalty to her boss is far more important than being competent in her job title, and even as politicians go she's is extraordinarily adept at eating up air time by giving answers which bear absolutely no relation to the question. Truss is one of the authors of the infamous Britannia Unchained, the libertarian fan fiction account of a UK society with no publicly funded services beyond the police, armed forces, and the machinery of government itself, in which the role of the state is limited to controlling the population while moving tax revenues into the private sector. The NHS is in good hands, from the perspective of Britannia Unchained that is.
