The latest is the Iran mess. Trump decides to pull out of the Iran deal. No problem, go ahead. BUT, he also intends to sanction any company that trades with Iran.
Who the fuck gave him the right to say who can and can't trade with Iran?

The only option left to the rest of the world, is to either stop trading because the bully boy said so, or impose sanctions on US firms in retaliation for any sanctions imposed on their own firms.
There is no real hope that the EU or UK will have the balls to do that.
China will just cheat their way around it, using proxy companies, and carry on trading with Iran.

In any case, the US can't win a trade war with China any more. They owe them too much money.

Nobody. The US can't stop anyone from trading with Iran. But, like every other country, we can impose sanctions. Not sure how the US would be able to sanction a French company that trades with Iran, for example, except to the extent the French company does business within US jurisdiction. Surely, you don't think anyone has been given the right to say who the US can and can't trade with?

Those are two options. The other option is to not trade with with the US. The US can't sanction some company in Europe or asia from trading with Iran, except to the extent they want to trade with the US. Every country has that right.

Oh, please, the US is just an incompetent country full of fat people who don't know anything. Surely, Europe, with it's superior educational system, economic system, and all around better competence can handle it. The US is just a joke, amiright?

I would be interested to hear from some of our Merican members what the States are doing about climate change (as opposed to the Federal Govt). From what I read many of them are going full steam ahead with alternative energy production and ignoring Trump's pronouncements.

The US is doing good on carbon emission reduction. https://www.forbes.com/sites/rrapier/20 ... emissions/ We have reduced carbon emissions by about the same amount as the entire European Union.

Here in Colorado, wind turbines are proliferating, and solar panels are popping up too.

I particularly like the wind turbines, because Seth has railed against them. I like to see him tilt at windmills.
