They are developing techniques for using dna for constructing memory modules. Apparently, the potential is huge, as it can hold hundreds of times more data in the same physical size, and it's many times more long lasting, and more resistant to damage and heat as well.
It's still early days, but the people interviewed on the tv about it ran a video for the interviewer recorded on dna, of a piece that he had done, and it played back perfectly.
Still slow and expensive at the moment, but that's sure to change.
I can't even imagine how they read and write it, but it's obviously already being done.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.
