False dilemma fallacy. There are plenty of other reasons for carrying a firearm, chief among which is the determination to be prepared to protect others against harm because one is both qualified and equipped to do so. Do you ask the same asinine questions of police officers?

No, they obtained all their gear and guns ILLEGALLY. Do you fail to understand that just because they passed a background check because they had not been previously convicted of a crime does not mean that their purchase of those guns was legal! It was entirely ILLEGAL for them to even attempt to purchase a firearm, or ammunition while having the intent to use those items to commit a crime. All of California's anti-gun laws did fuck-all to prevent them from illegally obtaining the firearms and ammunition because those laws are not obeyed by criminals, which is what this couple was from the INSTANT that they formed the intent to kill people.

But had they not been able to buy the guns "legally" they would have obtained them illegally, as they did the bomb-making materials, and once again California's anti-gun laws would have done fuck-all to prevent it from happening.

The ONLY solution to a terrorist with a gun prepared to shoot up a gathering of people is a non-terrorist with a gun willing to risk everything to put the terrorist down before he or she can do so. And that ain't the police, ever. They always arrive AFTER such killers have completed their killing.

More guns, less terrorism.

That simply has to be wrong. You are talking thought crime here, and retrospectively at that. When they bought the weapons, they did so legally - no one could ever prove that they had an intention to commit a crime when they did so.

Incorrect. I am a therapist. A "mental health nurse" doesn't exist. The closest thing to that would be a nurse in a psych ward in a hospital. I don't work in a hospital. I do out-patient either in-home or in-office, mainly in-home.

A down-home therapist you may be, but if you hold a degree in psychology I'll eat my hat. I have my doubts you know even the first thing about psychology - I have a lot of years of experience dealing with people who put on 'personas', and you're prime for that label.
