The judge said that the prosecution failed to prove their case beyond reasonable doubt.
Was his defence a reasonable cause for doubt? He produced no evidence for why he excluded the possibility that the girl was in the bog. And no evidence for why he should assume that the ''intruder'' was armed, or a danger to his life.
The forensic evidence was pretty clear that the first bullet wasn't the one that killed her, because one of the bullets that were not lethal could only have hit her in a standing position.
So there really was no reasonable doubt. She would have screamed when the first bullet hit.
He couldn't have thought he was killing an intruder.
The judge is a thick cunt. Or maybe it's a political judgement, to keep all sides happy.
But he's got away with murder.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

Of course there is no proper legal definition of 'reasonable doubt'.
