Hang every employee of LG of manager level and above, as well as all execs and stockholders.

And throw away the greatest opportunity for people to change the balance of power?

It's been since grade school when I read it, but I seem to remember something about televisions spying on all the citizens.Audley Strange wrote:The name of the book 1984 would be Nineteen Eighty-Four.pcCoder wrote:What is the name of the book, 1984?

Wait ... so if you don't opt out - say you don't know about it - it sends those details back?Scrumple wrote:LG is investigating allegations that some of its TVs send details about their owners' viewing habits back to the manufacturer even if the users have activated a privacy setting.
Seems like this should be an opt in thing, not an opt out thing.

You'd need pesky government regulation for that thing, Warren. Shouldn't the ordinary citizen be left to decide these issues on their own without nanny looking after them?

A consumer boycott would probably do just fine.

I feel awful to say that I agree with this to an extent. It seems most people are either oblivious or indifferent to anything that doesn't directly affect them enough to cause discomfort. There also seem to be those who are of the opinion that if you don't have anything to hide, you shouldn't mind being spied on.rEvolutionist wrote:Consumers are too stupid.

My response to that is always, "so if the NSA isn't doing anything wrong, why do they object to their information being made public?"pcCoder wrote:There also seem to be those who are of the opinion that if you don't have anything to hide, you shouldn't mind being spied on.

Fuck the NSA. That's all I have to say about that.
Addendum1: They're also incompetent asses. Intercepting communications at nexus points is pretty clever.. but.. they got caught! Derp!
