All the civil registrars get you to do is read out your vows (which you can write) and get you to sign the register, which is exactly the same for the marriage part of a religious wedding. Anything else is fluff introduced by the couple involved
When only criminals carry guns the police know exactly who to shoot!

The couple themselves may well not regard it as fluff...
All I know is that if I was going to get married again, it would be John fi Skye or no one!

Its fluff as far as the law is concerned ,whether its a prayer or a breakdance party.
Marriage = legal sharing of wealth responsibilities and rights witnessed by someone in authority and can be trusted by the public
Anything else is nothing to do with with the state
