Hello! :he-waves:

No need to apologise - I don't even know you!
[Disclaimer - if this is comes across like I think I know what I'm talking about, I want to make it clear that I don't. I'm just trying to get my thoughts down]

I do recall hearing that there was a thread about my leaving. Should I go try to find it, or would it be better if I just let it be?

Hi, Andrew. BTW, you're not back. You just never left and didn't know it.

Hi, andrew. I have a short memory on purpose. I remember there was something, but not quite what it was. I hope that memory stays buried. It makes life so much easier that way. Welcome back, if you decide to stay around.

Andrew, I thought your reasons, whatever they were, were appropriate because they were your reasons. I've sometimes wondered where/how you are ... It's good to see you again.

All my friends have ex spouses. I feel so left out.

Welcome. I would say welcome back, but I don't really remember. Might have been before my time.
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

Funny how things play out, isn't it? But it's that last bit that's important.

Would be an interesting poll ... who has been married, still married to the same person (extra options: content, not content), married more than once, divorced, not planning to marry again, never married but may some day, not wanting to ever be married, etc .. although, many of the regular posters probably have a good idea about these details among ourselves, but the topic about what different people think about marriage is an interesting one to me.
