Since when does black coffee have sugar in it?

If you get serious about losing weight, get a copy of Why We Get Fat by Gary Taubes. Or, given your penchant for details, get his longer and more difficult read, Good Calories, Bad Calories.

Thanks for the recommendations.

I am quite adept at weight loss. I've tossed all the gimmicks to the curb a looooong time ago, though.

EDIT - as for the coffee - yeah, it's weird. I've moved around a bit, and each region of the US has different coffee ling. In New Jersey a "regular" coffee means cream and sugar, but in the midwest it regular means black. Down south here if I order a coffee with sugar they always give me cream in there too. So, I say - coffee - just black with sugar.

I have been known to scoff the occasional McMuffin or burger, but it is usually only a few times per year.

CEO of McDonald's respond to 9 year old girl's question -- http://www.webpronews.com/mcdonalds-ceo ... od-2013-05 I hate when parents coach their kids on crap like this, but it's a fair question and I think the CEO's answer was pretty good.

The thing is -- there are lots of places to go for unhealthy food. We have ice cream stands and stores in several places near my home, and none of that stuff is any good for you. Are we going to lobby for all restaurants to conform to a certain menu of ingredients? People can figure out what they want to eat well enough, I think.

Moreover, is the McDonald's food really that much worse for you than much of what people bring home from the supermarket? I submit, that if people are buying prepackaged meals, or eating hamburgers and hot dogs at home, the foods are NOT significantly healthier at home.

These McDonald's protesters seem to level the obesity and health issues on McDonald's, without recognizing what people eat at home and buy at the supermarket.
