http://abcnews.go.com/Business/jilted-b ... d=12403921In a suburb of Chicago, fury has overtaken a jilted bride who is suing her former fiancé for the wedding costs. Dominique Buttitta, dumped four days before the wedding was to take place, is seeking damages of $95,942 from Vito Salerno to cover wedding expenses and the cost of the lawsuit.
This can be filed in the "be careful what you wish for" drawer....if the jilted bride can succeed here, then we will see other suits by jilted grooms who will sue brides whose hearts and minds changed close to the wedding day...I think absent a contract or promise that if the marriage didn't go through that these costs would be split, this lawsuit has little chance of success.
$95,000 for wedding expenses and the costs of a lawsuit? That sounds awfully high.
That's fucking ridiculous. IMHO.The suit's itemized list of expenses included over $30,000 for the banquet hall, $11,000 on lighting and flowers, $10,000 for an orchestra, $7,550 for a photographer, $5,000 for a wedding dress and accessories, and $1,700 for wedding favors.
If I was the groom, I might suggest that it wasn't me who wanted a bridesmaid luncheon or bridal shower. And, if those expenses are included, then I'm submitting a bill for the bachelor party, strippers included...lolThe expenses include other non-refundable purchases, including a bridesmaid luncheon, bridal shower and a deposit for a wedding planner.
