Current CNN poll:
Quickvote
Should religious symbols be banned from school classrooms?
This is not a scientific poll
No 54% 22,928
Yes 46% 19,841
Total votes: 42769
This is not a scientific poll
I'm disappointed.
CNN's Quickvotes aren't scientific, so there's no telling how accurate this is, but I'm still

Has one more "yes' vote now.

Although it may look like a forum, this site is actually a crowd-sourced science project modelling the slow but inexorable heat death of the universe.

Curiously, even after I voted, it said the same totals,
including number of votes.

This wouldn't have anything to do with this story, would it?

Italy seeks to end classroom crucifix ban
The Italian government is appealing to the European court of human rights to overturn a ban on classroom crucifixes.
This case against crucifixes was brought by a woman who argued that her children had a right to a secular education under Italy's constitution.
Last year the court agreed with the mother, saying parents should be able to bring up children as they saw fit.

It's a piece of piss to be cowiz, but it's not cowiz to be a piece of piss. Or something like that.

I'm not really a fan of banning things (unless it's an immediate heath or safety risk.) Banning kids from wearing a crusifax is only gonna cause them to rebel and turn more toward religion.
I'd prefer to teach them the bullshit then let themselves make up their own minds.
I run with scissors. It makes me feel dangerous

Saw this too late. Now it's been replaced.

No, because because it would only give many theistic legislators the exuse they were looking for to ban these symbols as well.
Just because more people believe Jesus is the son of God and not the son of Satan does not make it any truer.
