Would you guys be interested
In a quick series of short no-flavor games? I'm thinking of restricted sign-ups of no more than 12-15 players. The games would probably take 4-5 days to complete, max. The idea would be to give some concentrated time to practice and try out some of the ideas that J.A. explained in his critique of the Spooks game. If there is no flavor involved, I can GM games in my sleep, so I'll be glad to run 3 or 4 in quick succession if people are interested.

Yess'um,
"The fact is that far more crime and child abuse has been committed by zealots in the name of God, Jesus and Mohammed than has ever been committed in the name of Satan. Many people don't like that statement but few can argue with it."

Can you link to the critique/ideas, please?oblivion wrote:The idea would be to give some concentrated time to practice and try out some of the ideas that J.A. explained in his critique of the Spooks game.

I know there's a convention of alternating games at ratskep and rationalia. Is there any reason to follow that for a series of short "training" games?
I'd prefer to just run them one after another with a day or two in between, but I know (boy do I know) that it can be very distracting to try and play two games at once. In the Spooks game, I was playing here, and first mentoring someone in a game elsewhere, and later playing in a game.

What is the minimum number of players we would need in you opinion?

The minimum I think would make a useful learning game is 9. 12 would be just about ideal, and 15 would be the max. I think 16 would be too many for the types of learning games I have in mind.higgs2 wrote:What is the minimum number of players we would need in you opinion?

Ok. I'll start a sign up and cut it off when we get to 15 players.

I feel I need to extend myself by playing more than one game at a time.oblivion wrote:...(boy do I know) that it can be very distracting to try and play two games at once.
I like the idea of helping out Oblivion (can I call you Ob?) with these little training games. It'll help her with those confidence issues.
