Looked at some of the alternatives. None of them have a female ejaculation thread next to a metaphysics thread.

No offence to any of my fellow former RDF-ers, and not to appear ungrateful to rationalia for the warm welcome they have afforded us. But the one thing I think I will miss most about the RDF is the steady stream of creotards who provided such valuable springboards for displays of scientific erudition by many of the members. That doesn't seem to happen here, and I'm not sure if it happens much at any of the other options available. My guess is that the Richard Dawkins imprimateur at the top of the page drew them like moths to a flame, and without the good doctor's endorsement we're not likely to replicate that.

We're working on that for the new forum. I've begun spamming theist forums with the url, and I've sent invitations to a few of the chewier ones by PM at RDF.
It might take a little time, but we'll get them coming in. I also fully intend to utilise RDF in whatever form it takes to ensure some flow, and I'm sure others will do the same.

A book is a version of the world. If you do not like it, ignore it; or offer your own version in return.

That's a very accurate view of what it's been like here, we get a few from RDF every now and then but never a creationist. I sometimes miss them, then I read a topic about cheese and forget about themShrunk wrote:No offence to any of my fellow former RDF-ers, and not to appear ungrateful to rationalia for the warm welcome they have afforded us. Unfortunately, the same applies to atheists too, without an easy to find name to flock to getting the word out about anything new is hard.

Maybe those who are members of the "alternatives" can give a short review of them.
I frequent JREF only in the Science Forum....
find the modding here MUCH better and responsive in a positive way.
Over all layout here I like as well....board feels good...hard to define but it's like walking into a well run bar and knowing you are going to enjoy yourself and the barkeep is easy going but keeping an eye on things.

the goldisch rule:
don't do, of which you don't want to be accused of doing.
when you chop off your neighbours head and use it as a vase, you can call it 'culture'.
it's called civilisation is when this gets you jailed for the rest of your live.

Re: Alternatives to look at?
Not sure where I'll land ultimately (big thanks to Rationalia regulars ), but I'm willing to wait to see what happens with RDF. I want to be where the action is; the perceived stronghold of atheism. I'm very happy to be with freethinkers, but I'm not looking for peaceful discourse right now.

Re: Alternatives to look at?
Well, for what it's worth, I was warmly welcomed here and there are a number of people whom I like and/or respect here; besides, while I enjoy debate I don't enjoy arguments, particularly with people who don't listen. So all in all this seems like a good place for me.
