Throw in Soros and Jews:

Andriy Telizhenko, a former Ukrainian diplomat who has alleged Ukraine’s government conspired with Democrats in 2016, said he’s been told that people associated with liberal megadonor George Soros, including former Ukrainian politicians, are working against him — possibly because he’s helping Giuliani continue investigating President Donald Trump’s political opponents and undermine the credibility of the House impeachment inquiry.

When Fiona Hill, then a National Security Council official, started hearing early in 2019 about a smear campaign against a colleague in Ukraine invoking Soros, she had a sinking feeling: She’d heard this before.

A similar conspiracy theory about Soros had been lobbed against Hill during her first year as Trump’s top adviser on Russia and Europe. That’s when Hill says a former Republican congressman from Florida tried to get the vice president’s office to get rid of her — “to have me fired for being a Soros mole in the White House,” she told Congress.

That former congressman, Connie Mack IV, now a lobbyist, confirms he met in 2017 with the vice president’s national security adviser about Hill’s “conflict of interest” stemming from what he alleged are her ties to Soros, a frequent target of conspiracies about Jews controlling the world. Hill testified that the allegation was “frankly an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory.”

“I think that was a clever way to not answer the question and to force the conversation in a different direction,” Mack said in an interview with NBC News. “She never once addressed whether or not she has any connection to Soros, instead blaming people that want to raise the issue as being anti-Semitic, which is devious in my opinion.”

How is an "able-bodied" adult without children the most vulnerable person in our society?

I think aid should be based on need. You shouldn't have to jump through hoops. You simply demonstrate you can't afford to feed yourself and you get the help. This meets people where they are at.

I don't need to pretend you're the most vulnerable, or any other nonsense. For all I know you could be a piece of shit, but you gotta eat.
So, your question made me think. I came to a conclusion: it's a wonderful thing that Dear Leader and his loyal patriot party have the insight to understand that the most vulnerable in US society are the job creators. Without the tax breaks (which every right-thinking person knows should be made larger) and wiping out cruelly oppressive regulations imposed by the socialists, the deeply vulnerable job creators would wither up and die.

The US needs to provide a strong incentive for the parasitical loafers who aren't working to Make America Great Again™ to get out there and earn their keep. They've been coddled by the socialists for far too long. If hunger isn't enough, perhaps true patriots will have to eliminate other socialist scams like housing assistance.

Many people would in fact work the 20 hours a week and get assistance for the rest. But with a large group laid off from manufacture, there are enogh to fill even the 20 hour jobs, rather than hiring someone who has no work record and has somehow gotten by for 10 years, perhaps by petty crimes. Continuity of jobs on the resume, with very small gaps, is what emploers want.

On top of that it is well known that say Verizon will not hire anyone over 40 to work in their shops. Apple the same.

Denying aid to the needy is hubris.

I'm not exactly sure what calling "able-bodied" adults without children the most vulnerable people in our society is. --manipulation? --unwise?

Turns out that's a quote from William Barber, co-chair of the Poor People's Campaign.
A reminder of this immoral & extremist attempt to hurt the poor: The Trump administration is attempting to gut food assistance. This is a direct attack on the most vulnerable among us and this policy violence cannot go unchallenged.

-- Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II 11:48 AM - 2 Apr 2019
As a preacher he deals in hyperbole, of course. Attempting to interpret his meaning, I'd say that he considers people who have trouble putting food on their table to be more vulnerable to this move than others. I'd agree that his phraseology is manipulative. It seems to me that he's trying to highlight the power disparity between those whom this affects and those who have enacted it.

Apparently this is the first part of a plan to reduce food assistance that will, if fully implemented, cut approximately 3 million people off.

The reverend's phrase has been used by the Democratic critics of this policy as well:
SNAP recipients are our nation's most vulnerable—nearly 20 million are children, almost 5 million are low-income seniors, and 1.5 million are military veterans.

WASHINGTON—Touting his impressive record of serving on the board of a notable natural gas company, President Donald Trump offered Hunter Biden a job in the U.S. Department of Energy Monday based on his experience in the oil industry. “Given his unparalleled background in this sector, I am pleased to have Hunter Biden joining the Energy Department as the new Deputy Secretary for the Office of International Affairs,” said Trump, explaining that Biden’s long list of contacts with major Eastern European petroleum firms would be indispensable in promoting the administration’s interests as they pursue energy contracts abroad. “Hunter grew up in politics, so he’s primed for the job, and he came very highly recommended by several big-time energy executives. He’s a really great guy who knows how to get things done in this business. Hunter will start tomorrow, getting right to work securing the best deals possible for the American people.” At press time, Trump nominated Hunter Biden to replace a retiring Rick Perry as energy secretary at the end of the year.

Truly bizarre. I wish we could get specifics. According to the piece they only get some 20 refugees a year!?

The attempt to stop that then has got to be someone's pet project. Expose them, their organization etc. It's bound to be ugly.
