Rolling Stones albums

Post by Tero » Tue Oct 08, 2019 1:18 am

The Rolling Stones will be celebrating the 50 year anniversary versions longer than the Beatles. They recorded longer. I have maybe 2/3 of their studio albums. Nov 1 marks the release of Let It Bleed
https://variety.com/2019/music/news/rol ... 203342975/

The single album will be fine for me, but there is some talk of remasters and there is one album that got the playing speed changed to be the "real" key they played in. not sure which album they did that on. I can't tell what they did here, so I will not get this one till it is out. I saw it on Amazon and will probably get it there since there is almost no point paying extra at Barnes and Noble.

Sticky Fingers I got the two LP and two CD versions. A classic album. The second disc is them auditioning a guitarist. Clapton did not work out.

Same here, got most of their studio stuff and most of the mainstream live albums. There are a lot of live reissues out there. Nothing after Steel Wheels, though. Beggar's Banquet, Let It Bleed, and Exile get the most airtime. Favorite live album is Get Yer Ya Yas Out. Actually one of the best albums of all time, IMO, brilliant.

I need to start collecting vinyl again.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I’ve never been much of a Stones fan but the soundtrack to the movie ‘Performance’ starring Mick Jagger (brilliant and much overlooked) is one of my all time favourites.

I've been holding off forever from getting the special version with Ike and Tina et al. I already got Rock and Roll Circus once, not getting 2 minutes more of Lennon at twice the price.

Beggar's Banquet era

Only the vocals were live, but they had taped the performances there that week. Brian Jones never played, just miming. All the guitar parts are Keith.

It's like this: If you expect to be taken seriously as a rock fan, you have to have Sticky Fingers and Let It Bleed. You should have the unnamed Led Zeppelin album with Stairway. You do not need to have any Kiss or Beatles records. Johnny Winter might help. Hendrix and Cream do not help or hurt, up to you.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let_It_Bleed#Personnel
well it's good
I'm not going to look for " too much compression
It would not be the same without Brian's congas and autoharp!
Live With Me sucks...it became a song in Ya Yas.

The deluxe Let It Bleed includes the old Jamming With Edward album that I never had. Not getting it just for that, I really only would need It Hurts Me Too from that

I had that in vinyl but not CD. Maybe I should get that deluxe Let It Bleed. I've got to order a new Exile on Main Street anyway, I've played the last CD to death. They released a remastered one in 2010 that gets good reviews, $10.49 on Amazon with a free MP3 download. I've had two vinyl copies and this will be my third CD. Only other album I've had that many copies of is Electric Ladyland.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Never seen a music store. Anything from Amazon will have to wait for a trip to either the UK or the US, or for somebody to visit.
