Other than banning it, you could restrict the use, and require farmers using it to have PPE to wear while out spreading it. Now it is just "harmless."
Nothing is harmless. Absolutely no-one should handle pesticides without the proper training and equipment.

Units! mg/kg body weight
The LD50 of glyphosate is 5,000 mg/kg for rats, 10,000 mg/kg in mice and 3,530 mg/kg in goats. The acute dermal LD50 in rabbits is greater than 2,000 mg/kg. Indications of glyphosate toxicity in animals typically appear within 30 to 120 minutes following ingestion of a large enough dose, and include initial excitability and tachycardia, ataxia, depression, and bradycardia, although severe toxicity can develop into collapse and convulsions.

NaCl LD50 (median dose)
3 g/kg (oral, rats)[6]

So eat TWICE the LD 50 if you want to die. About 300g should do it.

Splenda (sugar with chlorines) is evil. DO not use. Use old Nutrasweet. No chlorines. Not fake carbohydrate. Not carbohydrate at all.

Why? it messes up intestinal bacteria:
These changes occurred at Splenda dosages that contained sucralose at 1.1-11 mg/kg (the US FDA Acceptable Daily Intake for sucralose is 5 mg/kg). Evidence indicates that a 12-wk administration of Splenda exerted numerous adverse effects, including (1) reduction in beneficial fecal microflora, (2) increased fecal pH, and (3) enhanced expression levels of P-gp, CYP3A4, and CYP2D1, which are known to limit the bioavailability of orally administered drugs.

OK. When drinking a glyphosate cocktail, leave out the sweetener.

Since there is no evidence that Roundup does cause cancer when used as directed, it is nonsensical to place warnings that it does.

I saw a report on the ABC the other day featuring a scientist I studied with. He made the point that the chemical alternatives to roundup are truly horrifying. Getting rid of roundup without actually determining if it is a carcinogen could lead to bad unintended consequences. Also in the report there was some new technology using AI and robots to target weed plants directly. Depending on the cost, this would be a great addition to weed management.

There are no instructions to wear PPE when applying. It has an LD 50. All the studies are on food grown with it. Not on the farmer.

WIKI
Glyphosate can have carcinogenic effects in nonhuman mammals. These include the induction of positive trends in the incidence of renal tubule carcinoma and haemangiosarcoma in male mice, and increased pancreatic islet-cell adenoma in male rats.[8] In reproductive toxicity studies performed in rats and rabbits, no adverse maternal or offspring effects were seen at doses below 175–293 mg/kg of body weight per day.[40]

Glyphosate-based herbicides may cause life-threatening arrhythmias in mammals. Evidence also shows that such herbicides cause direct electrophysiological changes in the cardiovascular systems of rats and rabbits.

NO studies on mammals exposed to ROUNDUP were published. It has additives.

I found this:
Safety Precautions

Follow the label directions when preparing Roundup concentrates for use. Apply the herbicide on still, clear days when the temperature is above 60 degrees Fahrenheit and no rain is in the forecast. Put on gloves, safety goggles, long pants, long sleeves, shoes and a mask before mixing and applying Roundup products. Avoid overspray onto desirable vegetation or into local waterways. Wash your hands, clothing, containers and all surfaces with soap and water. Dispose of triple-rinsed empty containers in the trash; do not reuse. Keep children and pets away from the sprayed areas until the Roundup is completely dry.

Roundup ready crops have shotgun inserted bacterial genes
In 1996, genetically modified Roundup Ready soybeans resistant to Roundup became commercially available, followed by Roundup Ready corn in 1998.[1] Roundup Ready soybeans patent expired in 2014.[2] Current Roundup Ready crops include soy, maize (corn), canola,[3] sugar beets,[4] cotton and alfalfa,[5] with wheat[6] still under development. Additional information on Roundup Ready crops is available on the GM Crops List.[7] As of 2005, 87% of U.S. soybean fields were planted with glyphosate resistant varieties.

The DNA was injected into the soybeans using the particle-acceleration method or "gene gun". Soybean cultivar A54O3 was used for the transformation.
